Laugu forest keeper’s cottage was built for the military forest ranger in 1856. This old, 32-metre farmhouse has been in service of Estonian forestry for 150 years, regardless of the political regime.

It has a wood-burning stove, a table and benches. Locally available blankets, pillows and mattresses. The house has electrisity, washing in the sauna. Outdoor fireplace, outdoor toilet, 2 sheltered picnic tables.

Sights:
The house is located 7 km away from the beautiful sandy beach, Tuhkana campsite.
Winter accessibility:
Access road is kept clear of snow, firewood provided.
Driving directions:
Laugu forest keeper’s cottage is situated by the Peederga village road, 7 km from Leisi (there are signs “RMK metsamaja” at 2 km and 6 km junctions).
Additional information:
Tent camping (max 40 persons) is allowed only for booked visitors of the rental hut, price 5 € per visitor. Pet – 5 € per night
RMK rental huts are locked cottages mainly for the hikers who plan their hike more thoroughly. A rental hut provides the privacy for the user and therefore a “key fee” must be paid.
The cottage is available for use from 1 May to 31 December.
As a user of Forest House you should know the following:
1) The Forest House is open only at pre-booked times.
2) The estimated time of use is from 14.00 to 12.00 the following day.
3) The number of users of the house is 6 people due to fire safety requirements.
4) Persons under the age of 18 can book and use the hut only together with an adult
5) The user must leave the equipment and the house clean when they leave.
6) The user returns the key to the caretaker of the house at the agreed time.
